Student Feature || Meet our New Events & Development Intern Holden Sill
My name is Holden Sill and I am excited to have been chosen to be the Events and Development Intern. I am going into my senior year at Winona State University. I am finishing up my double major of Political Science and Public Administration.
I grew up in Hastings, Minnesota and graduated from Hasting High School. Growing up I was an only child and spent a lot of time with friends and my mom, Kim, and dad, James. Growing up my mom worked as the director of a preschool and at a Merchants Bank. As I got older, I would volunteer in her preschool and after graduating high school I would substitute teach there for a semester while I went to a local community college. My dad is a teacher at the high school I graduated from. He teaches World Geography and AP US Government. My dad definitely was the spark behind wanting to be a political science major in college.
In my free time, I am either listening to music, doing something active, or hanging out with friends. I play and watch a lot of soccer. Other than soccer I love to go hiking with my wireless speaker playing music while I climb.
This last year I was a Legislative Specialist for Students United and got the opportunity to learn what Students United was all about. This led me to wanting to be involved more in Students United and the exciting opportunity of this internship. I’m excited to further my work with Students United and take what I learn in the classroom into the real world.
