Hello Everyone,

My name is Prapti Niroula. I’m an Information Systems Major and a senior at St. Cloud State University. I’m an international Student from Nepal and as such still haven’t gotten used to Minnesota weather. Although I’ve been here for four years now. I am delighted and pumped at the opportunity to represent over 65,000 students over the many state universities that make up Students United as the 2019-2020 Students United Treasurer. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly and am eager to get started on it. I am confident in my abilities and all I can bring to the table, as well as enthusiastic to serve my fellow students throughout the seven universities.

Students United has a visible presence on my campus and as the Chair of the Senate Finance Committee in my campus’ Student Government I always knew of Students United. Year by year my curiosity peaked and finally, last semester, I decided to jump in head first and joined the organization by becoming the Diversity Specialist of SCSU’s committee of Students United. This position made me more excited in Students United and made me decide to step up for a larger role. Despite losing the election for treasurer during my first try for the position in fall 2018, I did not waver and kept at it and tried again. The results were more favorable the second time around, of which I was very glad as I couldn’t make that election due to a terrible sore throat, but despite my absence and illness I got the position for which I am still grateful.

My college life has been littered with student Involvement because I believe that college is about more than just good grades and GPAs but also all the things you achieve, the people you meet and the experiences you have outside of class. The whole institution and the half a decade you spend in it, each and every experience should be something you learn from, benefit from and should build you into a better and more capable person. It should be fun too. Besides student involvement and self-betterment I also enjoy binging shows on Netflix, chilling with my friends and am an ardent fan of Panic! At the Disco. I also love reading.

I am ready to tackle a larger stage and as such I’m very excited for my new role, all I can learn from it and also give to it. I am looking forward to working with the students, the staff and the Minnesota State System as a whole. I am very confident that this year will be an amazing and successful one. Most importantly I am looking forward to working with you.

Cheers.
