Reports to: Board of Directors
Salary range: $50,000-$56,000

Students United is searching for a collaborative, equity-driven Executive Director to lead our statewide student-led organization. This role is central to advancing our mission: uplifting the voices of Minnesota State University students and advocating for policies that strengthen higher education across Minnesota.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Office Administration

Manage day-to-day office operations and administrative systems

Manage and maintain office supplies, equipment/technology and vendor relationships
-
Coordinate mail, phone systems, and filing systems
-
Ensure office policies and procedures are followed and updated as needed
-
Maintain organized electronic and physical records
Operations Team & Board Support
-
Provide administrative support to the operations team (comms/development) and board of directors
-
Coordinate logistics for Students United board meetings, retreats, and trainings, including hotel, meal, and transportation accommodations for students and staff
-
Create and maintain shared calendars for events, meetings, and programs
-
Assist with preparing board meeting materials and follow-up materials
-
Assist with board communications and document management, including updating governing documents.
Financial & Data Support

Manage accounts payable, expense tracking, and credit card activities
-
Process invoices and reimbursements
-
Support financial recordkeeping in coordination with finance staff or external accountant
-
Aid in the preparation of monthly financial reports, the creation of the annual budget, and the yearly audit
Human Resources Support

Assist with the hiring and onboarding process for new staff and maintain hiring and onboarding procedures

Support with administering payroll and employee benefits as needed

Maintain confidentiality of personnel information

Help coordinate staff trainings, retreats, and internal communications
Communications & Other Projects

Serve as a primary point of contact for visitors, callers, and general inquiries

Support basic communications such as email updates and event coordination
-
Plan Students United’s Annual Advocacy Conference in coordination with staff and external partners

Attend Students United events as needed
-
Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree
-
Comfortable working with and learning new programs and technology
-
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Commitment to the mission and values of the organization

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends for events
Preferred Qualifications a Plus:

Some experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
