Job Title: Community Leader Fellowship | Scholarships & Fundraising Fellow
Reports to: Director of Student Leadership & Equity and Staff Supervisor
Status: Part-Time, Temporary
Location: Remote (MN) with periodic travel to the Twin Cities
Salary and Hours: $16.50 per hour, 15 hours per week
Deadline: Sunday, December 8th, 2024
Position Summary:
Students United is seeking a fellow to join our team as part of the Community Leader Fellowship (CLF) Cohort!
In addition to participation in the cohort, the fundraising fellow will assist in specific fundraising and community events as well as supporting facilitation of scholarship applications and approvals.
The fellow will learn alongside a cohort of other Minnesota State university students and grow their personal and professional knowledge and skills in this collaborative and student-centered fellowship.
Position Responsibilities:

Attend an onboarding meeting, weekly cohort meetings, and end of year retreat

Engage in the curriculum and discussions of the cohort, including sometimes difficult topics like advocacy, social justice, identity, workplace skills, etc.

Participate in a cohort team events, projects, and meetings
-
Assist in small tasks assigned by the team being shadowed, such as authoring emails, drafting documents, taking minutes, etc.

Giving feedback on a semiregular basis to the program coordinator
-
Aiding in deciding the direction of the work and growth the cohort wants for itself
-
All other duties as assigned

Scholarship & Fundraising Fellow Responsibilities include:

Assisting with our Scholarship program, including the management of databases, the organization of applications, and ensuring timely communication with scholarship recipients

Learning and working with the Development and PR team on fundraising initiatives at Students United, such as silent auctions, in-kind donations, and annual giving campaigns
-
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and/or Experience:
-
Enrolled student at one of Minnesota’s 7 State Universities for the full 2022-2023 academic year
-
Interest in nonprofits and organizational management
-
Career interests related to at least one of the following:
-
Finance or Operations
-
Public Relations, Communications, or Social Media Management
-
Legislative Research or Advocacy
-
Minnesota State University Level Advocacy
-
Meeting or Event Planning
-
Development/Fundraising or Scholarship Outreach
-
Student Advocacy or Development
-
-
Some experience with Office 365
-
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with varied audiences through varied mediums

Interest in bettering your community and the world around you

Desire to grow and learn
-
Strong organizational skills and ability to self-manage multiple tasks

Curiosity and growth mindset

Ability to meet deadlines

**Please note that while we are looking for students with some previous experience in one of the above fields, you are encouraged to apply even if your previous work experiences doesn't align with any of the above fields.
