Fully-Funded Tuition Freeze

Students United is committed to advocating for the Legislature to uphold the Minnesota Statute Section 135A.01 that states it is the policy of the MN Legislature to fund 67% of the cost of public postsecondary education. Students will ensure legislators hear from students through a variety of advocacy tactics.

Progress: Our board has been given two legislative actions, developed by staff as a suggestion and approved and disseminated by the state chair to other board members.

Campus-wide Textbook Task Forces

Students United is committed to working with each university to create, or renew, campus-wide textbook task forces on each campus.

Progress: Bemidji State University and Winona State University have campus-wide textbook task forces on their respective campuses. Metropolitan State University has a committee and is in the process of appointing a student to the committee. Other universities are in the process of developing committees.

Point of Contact for Undocumented Student Legal Services

Students United is committed to working with Minnesota State to provide a system-wide point of contact for undocumented student who are in need of legal services.

Progress: The State Chair are brought this objective to meetings with the Minnesota State Chancellor and staff.

Excused Absence Request Forms

Students United is committed to working with Minnesota State universities to develop an excused absence request form and with the system to provide a sample holiday/ observance calendar to act as a resource.
