STUDENT GUIDE TO
SNAP BENEFITS
You May Qualify for the
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Recent rule changes have expanded the accessibility of the SNAP program to more university and college students than before.
SNAP, also known as food stamps, is a federal government program that helps low and no-income individuals and families get access to food.
SNAP is distributed through electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards. Each month, SNAP benefits are deposited into the EBT cards of beneficiaries, and can be used at supermarkets, convenience stores, and more.
Please note that only domestic students qualify for SNAP benefits. If you are an international student in need of nutrition assistance, please speak with your campuses food pantry.
